In David Hume's Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion, the character Philo braves the religious temperament of the times to provide rational grounds for being skeptical of religious assertions concerning God, reality, and ethics. In this vein, the journal Philo offers high-quality, critical examinations of theistic and religious claims, conducts useful explorations of issues in humanistic and naturalistic ethics, and facilitates meaningful discussion in these areas. The journal is the official publication of the Society of Humanist Philosophers.
