edited by Bonnie Bullough, R.N, Ph.D., Vern L. Bullough R.N., Ph.D., Marilyn A. Fithian Ph.D., William E. Hartman, Ph.D., and Randy Sue Klein

If you're interested in sex and who isn't here's a book you have to read. How I Got Into Sex collects fascinating autobiographies of more than forty people whose livelihoods are linked to sex. The list of contributors is quite diverse with respect to age, experience, and professional preference.

Sexology is a comparatively young field though its modern roots go back many decades and its history is centuries old. As this unique volume demonstrates, sexologists aren't looking to get their kicks, but are dedicated to developing and enhancing their profession. Those taking part in this project hope it will inspire a new crop of creative and enthusiastic sexologists.

The extraordinarily diverse collection of people who reveal how they got into sex includes therapists, educators, leading researchers of sexology, a sex toy designer, housewives, sex surrogates, criminologists, clergy, transsexuals, journalists, sociologists, physicians, psychologists, lawyers, nurses, scientists, social workers, and historians. Their unique personal accounts reveal much about our society's attitudes toward sex. Included among those featured in this absorbing volume are: Clive Davis, Albert Ellis, Robert Francoeur, Paul Gebhard, Naomi McCormick, John Money, William Prendergast, and Ira Reiss.

The late Bonnie Bullough (Northridge. CA), professor of nursing at the University of Southern California, and Vern L. Bullough, (Northridge. CA), visiting professor at the USC. have authored or edited more than 20 books, most recently Sexual Attitudes. Marylin Fithian and William E. Hartman, (Long Beach. CA) are co-directors of the Center for Marital and Sexual Studies. Randy Sue Klein (Woodland Hills, CA) is a doctoral candidate at the Institution for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Francisco.
